From the kitchen of Diane Crease
Whenever I go to my Brothers’ for the holidays, my Sister-in-law Diane, always has this delicious pumpkin bread out for snacking. I finally asked her for the recipe one year and was surprised how simple it was and how much it made. It is great for freezing.
3 cups sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1 cup oil
2/3 cup water
4 eggs
1 16 oz. can pumpkin
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup raisins
Mix all ingredients together except raisins…add raisins when all other ingredients are blended together. Use three bread loaf
pans, grease and lightly flour. Bake 350 for approx. one hour.
Diane says she usually adds extra raisins and a little extra pinch of nutmeg and cinnamon.
